The Oasis Project Who are we?

We are an open access point. This means that anyone can walk into our building and be given there and then, information and advice on drugs and alcohol or make a referral to another service. Our counsellors are friendly, fully qualified and have 50 years collective experience of substance misuse counselling. All of our receptionist staff are trained Advice and Information Workers who have great skills in locating the correct and relevant information you ask for.

What do we do?

We aim to provide accurate, appropriate and factual information which is accessible and meaningful to all. We provide advice and information to drug and alcohol users as well as friends, families, the wider communitiy and other proffesionals. Our advice and information staff also operate the freephone 'Kick It' telephone line during office hours. We assess the needs of the individual and can refer into more appropriate services if need be, or into counselling and support. We also offer optional group work and complementary therapies as part of treatment packages. Last year we booked out over 6000 one to one appointments.

Anyone may access the service without charge and without needing a referral from another agency.
